3A	Megan H	For your participation and effort this week both in the classroom and especially during swimming. Megan, you showed great bravery and resilience to jump in the pool and give all the activities a go. I’ve also been very impressed with your efforts to share and contribute in class discussions. 3B	Evelyn D	For your amazing transition to Wembley Primary School. Evelyn, you have settled into 3B fantastically and are already becoming such an awesome member of 3B. It has been great to see your confidence and curiosity for learning grow, we are very lucky to have you in our class!

4A	Cecilia B	For your amazing participation during our Reader’s Theatre lesson. You showed great leadership skills in organising your group as well as fantastic fluency and expression in your performance. Well done Cecilia!
4B	Nisha P	For demonstrating and modelling a fabulous growth mindset in our team challenges. Nisha, not only did you stay positive, you modelled strong leadership skills when you were able to turn around your team’s fixed mindset into a growth mindset, and guide them to success. Sadie, your persistence with your learning has been terrific - in particular during the problem solving lesson involving the clock. BAILEY PIPER AND ASHER SADGROVE - WORLD CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Brothers Bailey Piper (5/6) and Asher Sadgrove (3C) attended the world cross country championships at Mount Panorama in Bathurst from the 17th-19th February, the first time the event has ever been held in Australia.

The best endurance runners in the world were in attendance including world record holders, Olympians and world champions from track, road, steeplechase and cross-country disciplines.

As well as getting the chance to meet some of their idols, Bailey and Asher also competed at the event, Bailey in the U13 2Km Schools cross country challenge representing Wembley, and Asher in the U9s cross country event.

The weather was extreme with temperatures up to 35deg at times and the course was brutal with countless hills, soft sand, mud and tyres.

Bailey came 16th out of a massive field of 285 runners. He said it was “the toughest course I have ever run”. Asher incredibly ran second and took home a silver medal in the U9s.

Congratulations, Asher and Bailey, on your incredible efforts in Bathurst over the weekend, representing Wembley and your family. We are extremely proud of you both. We hope that you've given your uniform a wash before wearing it this week, Bailey!

Pride - celebrating diversity and inclusion

Thank you to Wembley parents, Linda, Sam and Lisa, and students, Louisa, Phoebe and Henry, at the Pride March on Sunday 5 March.

Linda and Louisa were there supporting Linda’s work (Western Health) and Lisa, Sam, Phoebe and Henry were there for Lisa's work (Parks Victoria) - to support diversity and inclusion, and as allies to our pride networks.
