Principal's Report

We, at Miners Rest Primary School, would like to acknowledge the Wadawurrung people of the Kulin Nation.

We pay our respects and thank the Wadawurrung people. May we share your land. We promise to look after it, as well as the animals and people too.

Eureka/Sovereign Track and Field Athletics Day - Wednesday 9th September

Congratulations to our students who represented Miners Rest Primary School at the Eureka/Sovereign Track and Field Athletics Day today. We are incredibly proud of your efforts and, most importantly, the way you represented our school and demonstrated our Miners Rest School Values throughout the day. Well done to all involved!

Colour Run - Friday 11th September

We are excited to host our Colour Run this Friday! A huge thank you to our Colour Run Committee and staff for organising this fun event, and to our students and families for their incredible fundraising efforts. Our students have raised enough funds to slime many of our teachers – including Mrs Nissen!  Thank you also to our PFA for providing a sausage sizzle on the day. Please note there will be no lunch orders available this Friday.

If parents/carers wish to collect their child early on the day, please ensure they are signed out through the school office. Families, please read the Colour Run information provided, as this is a big event with a number of adjustments to our usual school day.  We can’t wait for a fun and colourful day!

Student Led Conferences & Pop-Up Celebration of Art - Wednesday 16th September

We are looking forward to welcoming families to our Student Led Conferences next Wednesday 16th September. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to proudly share their learning portfolios, celebrate their achievements and reflect on the progress they have made. Students will also share and discuss their current learning goals with their families and classroom teacher. As always, if you have a matter you would like to discuss that may require more time than the allocated 10-minute conference, or you would prefer to speak with your child’s teacher without your child present, please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher to arrange a separate time. We also have our Pop-Up Celebration of Art taking place on Wednesday the 16th of September (during Student Led Conferences).

Walk to School, Footy Colours Day, Slime the Teachers & Assembly - Friday 18th September (Last day of Term 3)

We’re looking forward to a fun-filled final day of Term Three! We’ll start the day with our Walk to School & Footy Colours Day, organised by our Junior School Council. Students are encouraged to walk to school, wear their favourite footy colours and bring a gold coin donation. Our Footy Colours Parade will begin in the Gym at 9:10am, followed by our end-of term assembly. Parents, carers and friends are warmly invited to join us.

The children will also enjoy celebrating the incredible fundraising efforts of our school community with Slime the Teacher to occur during the day. Our teachers are ready (and some are even excited!) to be slimed!

As we begin to wrap up another busy and exciting Term Three, we thank our families, staff and wider school community for your continued support and partnership. Reflecting on the many events happening across our school is a wonderful reminder of the strong community we have at Miners Rest Primary School and the special experiences we create for our students when we work together. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community. We hope everyone enjoys a wonderful end to Term 3!
