Helping Us Protect Learning Time | Disruptions during learning time.
We know family life can be busy, and sometimes things pop up during the school day that require a quick call to the office.
We are always happy to help where we can, but we’d like to ask families to help us minimise interruptions during learning time.
Every interruption during class time can have a bigger impact than we might realise. A phone call to the office may mean a message needs to be passed to a classroom, a teacher needs to pause their lesson, or a student needs to leave their learning. These small interruptions can add up and take valuable time away from teaching, learning and positive teacher–student engagement.
We also ask families to limit calls to the office during the school day about changes to pick-up arrangements, unless the matter is urgent. We have noticed an increase in these requests, and while our administration team is always happy to assist, minimising these interruptions helps us protect valuable teaching and learning time and allows our students and teachers to remain focused and engaged in the classroom.
Of course, we understand that life happens! If something unexpected comes up, please contact us and we will always do our best to assist.
For planned appointments, messages and changes to arrangements, a little forward planning can make a big difference.
Thank you for your support in helping keep our classrooms calm, our teachers teaching and our students learning!
SENTRAL – Your School Information Hub
SENTRAL is your go-to place for keeping up to date with what’s happening at school! Before getting in touch with the school, please check the SENTRAL app first — chances are, the information you’re looking for is already there.
SENTRAL provides families with access to school calendar events, excursions, activities, important notices and school information, as well as our regular school newsletter. Keeping an eye on SENTRAL means you can stay informed about upcoming events, important dates and reminders throughout the school year.
Parents can also use the SENTRAL app to contact their child’s teacher directly. Teachers will respond as soon as reasonably possible, keeping in mind that they are teaching and working with students during the school day and will respond within their normal working hours.
SENTRAL helps keep everyone connected and informed, while reducing unnecessary interruptions to classrooms and allowing our teachers and students to stay focused on learning.
SENTRAL is your own stop shop for important school information.
Important note regarding cash in schools
To help keep our school community safe and reduce the risks associated with handling cash, we encourage families to use electronic payment methods wherever possible, including Sentral Pay or your individual BPAY.
The Department of Education recommends that schools minimise the use of cash as part of their risk management practices, as cash is considered the most vulnerable school asset.
Where cash payments are necessary, we kindly ask families to provide the exact amount whenever possible, as the school is unable to guarantee the availability of change at all times.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain safe and efficient payment processes.
Further information can be found via the link below or on our school website under key documents.
Reminder regarding a change to our office hours
Just a gentle reminder that our office hours have changed. We are open from 8:30am - 4:00pm.
Supervision Reminder
We are writing to remind families of the school’s student supervision hours. Recently, we have noticed an increase in the number of students arriving at school and remaining on site outside of these designated hours, when staff supervision is not available.
For the safety and wellbeing of all students, supervision is provided from 8:45 am until 3:35 pm each school day only. Students should not be dropped off before 8:45 am and must be collected promptly at the end of the school day, unless they are attending a supervised school program (OSHC) or previously arranged activity (Kelly Sports).
We kindly ask for your support in ensuring that children arrive and depart within these times, as the school is unable to supervise students outside of our operational hours.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe school environment for all students.
