Toast Café Food Experience!

This week, both of our 3-year-old kinder groups, Banksia and Hakea, enjoyed making their own toast for morning tea! The children waited patiently while the bread toasted before choosing their favourite toppings, including butter, Vegemite, jam, maple syrup, or even a combination of their own creation. There were plenty of proud smiles as they enjoyed eating something they had prepared independently.

This simple everyday experience provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to build confidence and independence. As they spread their chosen toppings, they strengthened their fine motor skills, followed each step of the process, and practised patience while taking turns to share the toaster and ingredients. It was a fun and meaningful way to encourage self-help skills and foster a sense of achievement.
