The Latest News

Dear Families,

As we reach the end of another school year, I’m reminded that this has been our first ‘normal’ year in the three years I’ve had the privilege of leading St Joseph’s.

As the Festival of the Class of 2024 comes to an end, we take the time to celebrate the vibrant young people they have become.

They are COMPASSIONATE towards their peers when playing and supporting learning. Especially with their buddies this year.

They are  INCLUSIVE when working and playing. They have developed admirable skills of coaching and encouraging those not as skilled as themselves.

They have shown CONFIDENCE as they have undertaken learning that was new and challenging.

The are COLLABORATIVE in particular in their leadership teams this year. They have considered the interests of everyone and prepared events for all students at St Joseph's.

AND they shave shown COURAGE - courage to be a part of teams for competitions in sports they don't usually play, but the when team needed number, they offered to help. Courage to perform in front of others, even when performing was out of their comfort zone.

We as a community are confident they are prepared to move on from St Joseph's and will be assets to the next school they attend. We know they will participate in all activities offered AND encourage others to be the best they can be.

This week, we bid farewell to Leanne Hansen, Fran Bennett, Elli Williams, Corrie Seabrook, and Zack Wileman. Each of you has made meaningful contributions to our community and to the learning journey in countless ways. St Joseph's is richer for having had you as part of our team. We wish you all safe travels, exciting new adventures, and lasting friendships in the future.

To all the students of St Joseph’s, in 2024 you worked hard, built lasting friendships, and learned so much. Enjoy your well-deserved break, and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2025—curious, ambitious, and ready for even more exciting adventures!

To our families,  thank you for your continued support throughout this school year. Your partnership has helped make this year a success. We wish you a restful holiday and look forward to welcoming you back in 2025, ready for another year of growth and learning!

We would like to express our gratitude to the Cottam, Harris, Kyne, and Wilson families for your generous contributions to our school. We look forward to celebrating the continued achievements of your families as they take the next step in their journey.

To our amazing staff, another year has passed, and we’ve truly been Better Together. We’ve learned from one another, shared in moments of joy, and, at times, navigated the challenges that come with change.

What stands out most is how we’ve supported each other—professionally and personally—through it all.

Thank you for your dedication.

As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited to continue our shared journey, focusing on every student, every family and every teacher - all together, every day, guided by faith and united in purpose.

We have many tasks to be completed over the holidays. There will be a big Working Bee on Monday 27th January. Please put this date in your diary so we can prepare our grounds for the return of all children. If you would like to do something at another time, please let me know.

We appreciate the offers from families to help maintain the garden and chooks over the holidays.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas, a relaxing break, and precious time to make lasting memories with those you cherish most.
