Mathmatics 

This term in Mathematics, students will continue to strengthen their number skills and build confidence working with larger numbers. They will explore place value up to 1000, learning to represent, order and expand numbers in different ways.

Students will focus on rounding to the nearest 10 and 100 by regrouping and renaming. They will also deepen their understanding of multiplication using equal groups and arrays. They will continue to use strategies when doubling and halving numbers. 

Students will recognise, compare and classify shapes, using language such as parallel, curved and straight.

Building on their multiplication skills, students will be introduced to division; they will be sharing using equal groups and arrays.

At the end of this term, we will be introducing fractions; we are looking at halves, quarters and eighths.
