As part of our home learning, students will continue to engage in reading decodable texts. Over this term we will also enjoy books such as ‘The Stone Lion’ by Margaret Wild, ‘The Snail and The Whale’ by Julia Donaldson, ‘Walking in Gagudju Country’ by Ben Tyler and Diane Elizabeth Lucas and ‘The Gentle Genius of Trees’ by Phillip Bunting.
During these units, the students will be exploring themes such as:
- Compassion and kindness
- Friendship, adventure and courage
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander connection to Country
- How trees live, grow, connect and support life on Earth
