In Loving Memory of Gillian Emerson

We are deeply saddened to farewell Gillian Emerson, our dedicated Food Technology Assistant, who passed away in June shortly after her retirement last year.

Gillian joined Huntingtower in September 2012 as a casual staff member and moved into a part-time role in 2022. Over the years, she became an integral part of the Food Technology team, bringing passion, warmth, and tireless dedication to her work. She did far more than prepare ingredients and set up kitchens - she inspired a love of food and cooking in generations of students, sharing her knowledge with care and encouragement.

Her meticulous preparation, eye for detail and calm, steady presence were the backbone of the department. Thanks to Gillian, lessons ran seamlessly and students felt supported and confident in the kitchen.

She will be deeply missed by staff, students, and all who had the privilege of working alongside her. Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this time.
