English Masterclass 1
by Dr Bernadette Sheedy, High Ability Learning Specialist
The first English Masterclass for the year took place on Thursday 12 February in the library. This session was run by Mrs Pearson and focused on launching the 2026 Reading Challenge.
During the session, Mrs Pearson spoke about the importance of reading, the many benefits that reading can offer and the need to push yourself outside of your comfort zone to read genres you may not usually read.
The Reading Challenge is called ‘Symphony of Stories’, and different genres represent various sections of an orchestra. Students can build their own orchestra based on their reading choices. There will also be a channel on Teams where students can share their reviews of books and find recommendations.
