Introducing your School Captains

School Captain - Rohan M-R
I am a passionate long-distance runner, and much of my time outside of school is dedicated to training, competing, and coaching others. Running has taught me valuable lessons in discipline, resilience, and goal setting, which I carry into all aspects of my life.
I wanted to become School Captain to further develop my leadership skills and to contribute positively to the school community that has given me so much. One of the things I value most about Box Hill High School is its diversity, which creates opportunities to connect with a wide range of people and learn from different perspectives.
In my role as School Captain, my goal for 2026 is to help foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students encourage one another, celebrate each other’s efforts and achievements, and prioritise both their personal wellbeing and growth, as well as that of their peers.

School Vice-Captain - Ivy H
Hello teachers, parents and students, I’m Ivy, one of your 2026 School Vice-Captains! For starters, I am so truly honoured to have taken on this role, and I feel grateful beyond words, but also deeply moved, that teachers and students have placed their faith in me. The main reason that motivated me to become a school captain was realising how much I genuinely care and love this school.
There are no words to express my gratitude towards the teachers here, who are consistently dedicated and diligent in everything that they do. I’ve also formed friendships across different year levels and built friendships that I treasure deeply. Being part of such a supportive community at Box Hill High School, has made me feel so fortunate and has inspired me to give back to all the teachers and students who make this school what it is.
In Year 7, I remember feeling nervous entering in a new environment. But within the first week, I grew to love my class so much and I found that the culture built here, is one that is so strong, inclusive and welcoming, allowing all students to transition with confidence and ease. Having such committed and caring teachers makes me feel like the luckiest student in the world, because I feel incredibly supported. And so, I value that our school is a place where everyone can uplift one another and grow together.
My goals for 2026 are to strengthen the inclusivity at our school, where everyone feels valued and accepted. Whether through leadership opportunities, clubs or school events, I hope to encourage greater involvement, where students can share their ideas and feel proud to represent our school. Furthermore, I want students to have more opportunities to explore their passions and discover new interests, through meaningful and practical experiences that help them gain a clearer understanding of their future pathways, including university and career options.
Now a little bit about me! I’m always trying new hobbies and learning new skills. I am particularly passionate about art, especially in oil painting and sketching, as well as arts and crafts. I also enjoy playing the piano, writing and reading. I love playing badminton and virtually every single sport :) I also enjoy learning new languages! I’m bilingual and can speak Chinese, but I also hope to learn Italian and French in the future, as I’m fascinated by a variety of cultures around the world.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better, and I look forward to meeting more of you and working together to make 2026 a memorable year, filled with growth, connection and lots of fun :)
School Vice-Captain - Leigh H
Hi everyone! My name is Leigh, and I am incredibly honoured to be serving as one of your School Vice Captains for 2026.
Here’s a little bit about me. When I’m not at school, you’ll likely find me on a tennis court. I’ve been playing for over a decade and I’m currently coaching kids ranging from ages 3 to 18. A massive highlight for me this year was having the privilege to train on John Cain Arena at this year's Australian Open and my ultimate goal is to attend the Grand Slams in the UK, USA, and France.
When I’m not talking tennis, I love hanging out with friends , listening to music and seeking out a bit of adrenaline—I recently even gave indoor skydiving a go! At home, I’m a huge dog lover and spend plenty of time with my Cavoodle, Jasper.
I applied for Vice-Captain at BHHS because I want to strengthen the friendships between our year levels. I believe our school is at its best when it feels like a connected community where every student feels they belong. I’m passionate about ensuring that our student voice isn't just heard, but acted upon, making BHHS a place where we all have a say in our experience.
What I value about Box Hill High - What I appreciate most about our school is the culture of kindness and teamwork. We have a unique, nurturing environment where everyone is supportive of each other’s differences. It’s that sense of belonging that makes BHHS such a great place to grow.
My goals for 2026
Level up our school spirit by getting our school community (students and staff) involved in the events that actually matter to us.
Bridge the gap between seniors and juniors so the school feels more like one big team.
Turn your ideas into reality, whether that’s better facilities, new clubs, or just improving the daily vibe around the school.
I’m always up for a good conversation, so please come and say hi if you see me around.
