Remembrance Day at Aberfoyle Park High School
On Monday, 11 November Aberfoyle Park High School came together to honour and remember the sacrifices of those who served in the armed forces in World War 1 and other wars Australia has been involved in. Our Year 7 and 8 students attended a well organised Remembrance Day Assembly, demonstrating their respect and gratitude.
Highlights of the Assembly:
- Leadership and Poise: A special thank you to students Emily S and Kirat A, who led the assembly with poise in their Army and Air Force cadet uniforms. Their leadership set a respectful tone for the event.
- Musical Tributes: The assembly featured stirring performances of the Last Post, Rouse, and the National Anthem by our music students and dedicated music teachers. These performances added a poignant and reflective atmosphere to the ceremony.
- Minute’s Silence: Our students showed great respect and attentiveness throughout the assembly, particularly during the minute’s silence. This moment of reflection was especially noted by our special guest, Elaine Winter, from the Morphett Vale and Districts RSL.
We are proud of our students for their respectful participation and for making this Remembrance Day a meaningful and memorable event.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to the assembly and to those who attended to pay their respects. Lest we forget.
