Diversity Day 2026

Coming up we have our wonderful Diversity Day celebrating our wonderfully diverse community supported by Kaboom Kids. Thanks to the families that have already paid for the event to be held on Friday, 30th October (week 4) and it would be appreciated if families could let us know if your child is attending, as we need to confirm numbers for the event.

This is a fun filled engaging day that celebrates our students and community members and the widely diverse backgrounds here at Footscray West. It is a day that incorporates all our School Values: Belonging, Respect, Resilience, Responsibility, as students participate in cross-age, tabloid-like activities with Kaboom Kids. These activities are inclusive, engaging and action-packed, where nobody stands still. Every activity is thoughtfully designed to keep students moving, collaborating, and smiling from start to finish.

Students will also be incorporating activities in class that show respect and understanding of people who may be different to us but are welcome at Footscray West. It is a day that reinforces tolerance and acceptance of others.

Students are permitted to be out of uniform on Diversity Day and are encouraged to wear brightly coloured clothes that show support for our diverse community but the clothes must be respectful and suitable for tabloid activities. All students will also need to wear a broad brimmed hat for the outside activities.
