Student Achievements

Congratulations to the following students:

Rozalia ('Rosie') Arnold (Year 10), who was awarded the Most Dedicated Umpire 2025 at the Tasmanian Football Umpire Association Hall of Fame Dinner. This award recognises Rosie's dedication to training and learning as an AFL field umpire, her commitment to umpiring games and her involvement as a player, both in training and in matches. Recipients of the award are selected from any of the three umpiring disciplines: field, boundary and goal. An amazing effort, Rosie!

Abbie Fidanza and Lucy Kearney (Year 8), who have been awarded equal second place in the Tasmanian Science Talent Search Competition (Research Prize category) for their project investigating whether antibacterial wipes can reduce bacterial growth. Congratulations also to Maggie Rae (Year 8), whose project 'Super Soap' received commendable recognition. The students will be presented with their awards at a ceremony held this afternoon at The Friends' School.

Sophia Cook, Sofia Palermo and Amber Morrisby (Year 8), who proudly represented Tasmania at the Talent ID Cup, held during the school holidays at the home of the Matildas in Bundoora, Victoria.

The Talent ID Cup brings together the best young soccer players from across Australia, with Tasmania taking on squads from Victoria Metro, Victoria Country, South Australia and Capital Football. For these students, the tournament is a vital stepping stone towards selection for the 2026 Emerging Socceroos and Emerging Matildas Championships.

In a nail-biting final that went down to a penalty shootout against Victoria A, Tasmania claimed victory. An incredible achievement and a moment to remember. Well done to Sophia, Sofia and Amber. What a fantastic way to spend the holidays!
