From the Director of Teaching and Learning K–12

Ms Chelsea Mouritz

Welcome back to the final term of the teaching and learning calendar. Term 4 is filled with rich learning experiences, examinations, final assessments and preparation for the end-of-year awards.

Professional learning and coaching

  • On Monday 13 October, all teaching staff engaged in a rich day of professional learning focusing on curriculum alignment with the Science of Learning and student engagement strategies. Thank you to all who contributed to the collaborative spirit of the day, ensuring that every student matters in our classrooms.
  • Junior School teachers will continue their work with the Instructional Leader in Teaching Practice coaching model this Friday. This is a valuable opportunity to reflect on practice and refine instructional approaches. The College will be expanding this professional learning practice internally in 2026.

Senior secondary students

Senior secondary students are in their final days of classes as they prepare for their assessments and external examinations. Many students are working towards submitting their external folios, preparing for practical performances and resitting earlier assessments as revision for examinations in November.

Senior secondary classes conclude on Thursday 30 October, with Line 1. We wish all our senior students the very best as they complete their final tasks and prepare for the next phase.

Year 10 exam preparation

The Year 10 Exam Booklet has now been distributed to Year 10 students. It includes a full exam schedule, subject-specific study guides and tips for managing time and stress. Families are encouraged to support students in creating a study plan and maintaining a balanced routine.

Key study tips include:

  • breaking study into manageable chunks.
  • using active recall and practice questions.
  • prioritising sleep and wellbeing.

Year 10 classes conclude on Tuesday 25 November, with their exams beginning on Thursday 27 November.
