Gumboot-a-thon

On Friday the 8th of August, we hosted our annual Gumboot-a-thon! And my golly- was it successful! As staff, we are absolutely blown away by the generosity our families gave to the  'A Better Life for Foster Kids' foundation.  We raised more than $1400 but also donated various clothing items for different age ranges, to help support children in care.

We were honoured to have Heather Baird, the founder of 'A Better Life for Foster Kids' to join us on the day and spend the time speaking about her own journey and how this has influenced the mission of the foundation. She was extremely proud of our efforts and awarded each of our students a participation award.

Students walked consistently for the whole 2 hours! I saw nothing but smiling faces as they walked. From a teachers' perspective, it was really nice to have that quality time with students outside of the classroom to talk about their interests/likes/any topic really! There was even a hint of friendly competition amongst them, as the prize of getting a lunch order for the most amount of laps, was on offer. Congratulations to Angus, Westin and Brylie! We hope you enjoy your lunch order on Friday.

Thank you to all the families who volunteered to help on the day- it couldn't have ran so smoothly without you! A massive thank you to Amy Armstrong for organising the balloons (amongst other things,) they looked amazing along our front gate. We all put in an extraordinary amount of effort into the day, so well done TEAM!
