Yesterday, our Year 4, 5 and 6 students headed off to Duncan Mackinnon Athletics Track for our House Athletics Carnival and it was an absolute ripper of a day.
It was a near-perfect day, starting sunny and not a breath of wind.
Mr Gowans and I were there early to set everything up, and by 9:30 am the students had arrived, full of energy and ready to go.
Throughout the day, everyone rotated through different events, from the 100m sprint to shot put and high jump, just to name a few. There were loads of house pride, cheering and encouragement from start to finish. It was awesome to see students getting behind their mates and giving it their best across all events.
We even had a few records broken, which is always exciting! While we’re still finalising the results and sorting out ribbons, I can share the overall house placings:
4th – Lewis
3rd – Montrose
2nd – Brickwood1st – Murphy – winning by just 6 points!
Massive thanks to all the staff and parent helpers who kept things running smoothly, and of course to all the students for bringing such great effort, attitude and energy to the day.
Well done, everyone!
