UMatter

Hi everyone,

Some of you might know about UMatter and show UMattitude, or you may have seen UMatter Man around the school and wondered who he was. For those who aren't sure, every newsletter will have more information about this idea and who UMatter man is.

Why?

UMatter was started in 2020 during Covid because everyone was feeling disconnected and unable to see friends who made them feel full. Since then, our school and community have been sharing UMatter, including UMatter Day to celebrate each other's worth on the first Friday of November. 

What is UMatter?

UMatter is about showing people that they matter through respect, positivity and kindness. By doing this, everyone feels like they are important and that they matter.

How to UMatter

It's so simple, that everyone can do it, and should do it. You can start a conversation with... "You matter to me because .... " or "I just wanted to let you know how much you matter to me". You could write a letter or do a gesture to improve their day such as, opening a door, complimenting them, or it can be as simple as smiling at them. We're sure that you can thinks of lots of other ways to show you care about them.
