R U OK? DayÂ

đ R U OK? Day đ
Thursday, 10 September
Â
R U OK? Day is a wonderful reminder that a simple question can make a big difference. This year, our students will be encouraged to think about how we can check in with others, listen with care and let people know that they are not alone.
Â
To mark the day, students are encouraged to wear free dress for the day.
Â
The original idea for a Free Dress Day came from our Semester 1 Student Voice Leaders, Lily and Sahara, and RUOK? Day was chosen as the day by this semesterâs SVLs. We are so proud of the passion and clarity with which Lily and Sahara expressed their opinions to the 3-6 student body and teachers.
Â
Throughout the day, students will explore the importance of connection, kindness and looking out for one another. We will encourage students to notice when a friend might not be themselves and to think about safe and supportive ways they can offer help.
Our key message is simple: âAre you OK?â is a question that can open the door to an important conversation.
We encourage families to continue this conversation at home by checking in with one another, making time to listen and reminding children that it is always OK to ask for help from a trusted adult.

đ R U OK? đ Sometimes a simple question can make a big difference.
