Wakakirri

Last Thursday, the 13th of August, the CHPS Wakakirri team went to Frankston Arts Centre to perform their Story Dance piece titled 'Saviour of Sight', alongside five other primary schools from around Victoria. The item told the story of Fred Hollows and the amazing work he did to restore sight for so many people around the world. The 42 students in our team started working on this seven minute piece back in March, rehearsing every Thursday after school to learn multiple dances and acting roles. 

The performance evening was a wonderful celebration of the hard work they put in and they should all be incredibly proud of the passion, determination and resilience they showed throughout the day. 

The judge gave the team three awards: The Storytelling Award for Concept, The Ensemble Award for Group Dance and The Production Award for Projections. Thank you to Ros Lawrence, our long-standing Wakakirri Co-ordinator and all the parents that helped throughout the process and on the night. Congratulations to all the students in the 2026 CHPS Wakakirri Team!
