Principal Team Updates

from everyone's desk.

School Council

Our School Council met last night to review a range of important school updates; including our outstanding NAPLAN results, 2027 enrolments and staffing, facilities projects, financial position and changes to our student reporting structures. We also welcomed new Prep parent Aimee C to Council, who will bring valuable insights as both a current CHPS parent and, next year, a parent of a child attending our new kindergarten.

Book Week is Coming!

Book Week is coming up next week, with this year's theme Symphony of Stories.

Don’t forget our Whole School Book Parade on Monday morning at 9:00am on the synthetic field. We look forward to seeing our students bring their favourite books and characters to life!

VGSA Update

The Victorian Government Schools Agreement (VGSA) has now been accepted by AEU members.

We would like to thank our families for their support and patience throughout the negotiations as we advocated for better conditions for staff and, importantly, better funding for our school communities.

An aspect that is relevant to our community is that the new agreement includes changes that will impact school operations, including an increase to 8 student-free days from 2027 (from 5). We will communicate the arrangements and dates for these days to our school community as soon as possible.

Further details about changes arising from the agreement will be shared with families as they become relevant to school operations.
