Environment, Facilities and Grounds

Safe and Well Operations Leader

We are very pleased to see students well and truly enjoying the playground and outdoor learning spaces. It has been wonderful to see these areas back to being used every day for play, movement, and learning.
Recently, a specialist company attended the school to test the softfall surfaces in the playgrounds to ensure they meet safety and compliance standards. This testing involves dropping a calibrated weight designed to simulate the impact of a child’s head to ensure the surface provides the appropriate level of protection. We are pleased that this important safety check has been completed.
We are also looking forward to our upcoming playground opening ceremony, and we look forward to sharing more information with families soon.
Over the school holidays, there will continue to be a number of works taking place around the school. Jacob and the maintenance team will be busy coordinating holiday works and we will also have the installation of our new shade sails. The Building Condition Assessment will also be conducted during the holidays. This is a Department process where external assessors review school buildings and facilities to help plan future maintenance and upgrades.
Looking ahead, we are also in the early planning stages of developing an additional garden space, currently referred to as our Sensory Garden, and we are exploring opportunities to further uplift and improve Playgrounds 1 and 2.
Thank you to our school community for your ongoing support as we continue to improve our learning environments for our students.
