Dear parents/carers,

As we come to the end of Term 1, I would like to thank our families and carers for your ongoing support and wish you a restful and enjoyable term break, filled with family time and fun activities.

Throughout the term, students have been actively engaged in Mathematics learning, with a strong focus on counting and number, shapes, and data. Students have been developing counting skills from early number concepts through to larger numbers, supported by our hands-on maths kits. These carefully designed resources allow students to use manipulatives to explore mathematical ideas in concrete, meaningful, and motivating ways.

Classes have also been utilising the outdoor environment to apply mathematical skills through real-life experiences such as counting objects, sorting materials, and measuring spaces.

In addition to classroom learning, students enjoyed several whole-school and community events, including the Chinese Dragon incursion, Ramadan Parade, Easter Hat Parade, and Jacanarama, our celebration of Autism Acceptance Day. These experiences supported connection, inclusion, and celebration across our school community.

We are proud of our students’ engagement and growth this term and look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for Term 2.

Kind regards,

Stefania

Room 14

Room 14 has had a fantastic Term 1! We have learnt all about each other through playing and working together. We had lots of fun making playdough from scratch. Everyone did a great job of mixing the ingredients together and had a good time playing with our bright coloured playdough. Room 14 has enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking lots of yummy recipes, such as choc chip banana bread, toasted sandwiches and chicken and veggie noodles. We have also spent time exploring the garden and watering plants.

Room 14 has been learning all about phonics through the Little Learners Love Literacy Program. We have also spent time learning about different shapes through matching and tracing shapes. We will continue to explore the different shapes around us. We have also spent time moving our bodies in the OT room and the playground, we all love jumping, climbing and running.

We look forward to seeing Room 14 progress and continue to have fun!
