Primary Sub-School News

Over the past two weeks, our primary school students have been actively involved in several wonderful community events, including Harmony Day celebrations, the Ramadan Parade, the Jacanarama Fun Run and the Easter Hat Parade. Students transitioned smoothly between activities and demonstrated excellent organisation and flexibility. It was pleasing to see such high levels of participation, enthusiasm and respectful behaviour across all events. These experiences provided valuable opportunities for students to connect with their community and celebrate diversity together.
ROOM 5
In Term 1, the classroom quickly became a warm and welcoming place where students began to feel safe and settled. Each morning, they arrived with growing confidence, unpacking their bags, greeting their teachers and friends, and finding their place during morning circle, ready to start the day.
As the weeks went on, the students learned the importance of taking turns and sharing. During play and group activities, they patiently waited, used kind words, and supported one another.
In literacy lessons, the students learned the letters and sound of the LLLL program, shared their ideas, and practised recognising letters and sounds. They enjoyed exploring the garden and expressing themselves through colouring in art and early writing. During numeracy, they participated in hands-on activities, counting objects, sorting items, and learning about numbers in fun and meaningful ways.
By the end of Term 1, the classroom had grown into a caring learning community where students felt happy, included, and excited to learn together each day.
