Middle Sub School Leader
Dear parents/carers,
Our Middle Sub‑School students have had a wonderful start to the term.
One of the many programs we run at JSA is the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program (SAKG).

Throughout Term 2, students will engage in planting and maintaining the garden and preparing simple, healthy recipes such as ANZAC biscuits, stir‑fry, blueberry muffins, and veggie sandwiches. These hands‑on experiences support the development of practical life skills including planning, problem‑solving, cooperation, and following instructions, while also building independence, responsibility, and healthy eating habits.
Swimming Week – Week 3 (4th–8th May)
Swimming Week is coming up. Each class will attend a 45‑minute lesson every day, with students grouped according to their swimming ability. Lessons will focus on water safety, floating, kicking, stroke development, and building confidence in the pool.
Parent Volunteers
Parents and carers are warmly welcome to come along and support their own child during swimming sessions. Students really enjoy having a familiar face there.
To help us keep everyone safe:
Thank you for your ongoing support. Our students are thriving, and we look forward to a great term ahead.
Best Regards,
Stefania Mantinioti

Room 15 has had a fantastic start to the term. Students have been building important life skills through activities such as folding tea towels, sorting cutlery, and using placemats during mealtimes. They’ve also been practicing how to follow mini schedules independently during work tasks and using them to communicate to staff when they have finished an activity.
We enjoyed learning about Anzac Day, especially by tasting some delicious Anzac biscuits made by Derya. Room 15 is very excited and looking forward to starting swimming next week!
