Saint Mary of the Cross Food Donations
St Mary of the Cross (MacKillop) worked hard to help those in need. Her phrase, "Never see a need without doing something about it," serves as a reminder to Catholics to support those who are less fortunate. We are asking for food donations to go to the Emergency Food Relief at Keysborough Learning Centre. If you able, please donate the following items to your child's classroom.
Prep- packaged foods (pasta, rice)
Year 1&2- breakfast foods (cereal, long life milk, fruit juice, tea bags, coffee)
Year 3&4- canned food (baked beans, pasta sauce, canned vegetables)
Year 5&6- toiletries (tissues, soaps, shampoo & conditioner)
Donations will be collected from Monday 10th August to Thursday 27th August.
Thank you for your support.

RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation
Do you know someone over the age of 16
- who is wanting to find out more about our Catholic faith,
- who has expressed a desire to be baptized; or
- who has already been baptized but who would like to participate in the other sacraments of Eucharist and confirmation.
If you do, then let them know that our RCIA process will be commencing this month.
What does RCIA involve?
Those who are making the enquiry meet once a week usually at mass each week.
During the mass, they are then given the opportunity to meet with members of our RCIA team to reflect on the gospel and their own journey of faith.
Suitable times and dates are negotiated with those participating.
Also involved is a period of discernment to determine if the person is called to baptism and the other sacraments.
These sacramental celebrations are held on Easter Sunday.
Participation in RCIA is not a commitment to be baptized…not all the people making enquiry decide to proceed to baptism, for some this can take many years.
If you know anyone who might be interested please let them know. Any further enquiries, please email Marj: marj.sjostrom@resurrectionparish.org.au
