Welcome to Term 3
Welcome back to Term 3! It promises to be another busy and exciting term at St Mary’s, with a strong focus on teaching and learning as our students continue to build their knowledge and skills across the curriculum.
Our Year 4 students embark on another chapter in their Sacramental Journey, receiving the Sacrament of First Eucharist.
Preparations are also well underway for our school production of Aladdin Junior, while our mixed netball and boys’ soccer teams will proudly represent St Mary’s at the next stage of the Lightning Premiership competition. Our Prep students have also celebrated their first 100 days of school and continue to achieve wonderful things in the junior school.
There is a fantastic energy around the school, and we thank all families for their continued support. We are looking forward to a great term and, hopefully, some warmer weather ahead!
Aladdin Jnr - Ticketing & Information
Our production of Aladdin Junior is fast approaching, and we cannot wait to showcase the talents of our students at the beautiful St Leonard’s Theatre later this term.
Full ticketing information is included below. Families with younger children, grandparents and extended family members are encouraged to attend the 1:00 pm matinee, as the evening performance usually sells out very quickly.
A huge thank you to the many staff members and parents working behind the scenes. In particular, we acknowledge Nicole Everett and Vanessa Gooden for coordinating the production, Miss M and the parent costume team, and Michelle Perpina for her fantastic work on the props.
Their time, effort and commitment are greatly appreciated and are a wonderful example of our community coming together.
100 Days of Prep
On Wednesday, our Prep students celebrated their first 100 days of school. It was fantastic to see them dressed as 100-year-olds and fully embracing the day. Their assembly performance was a highlight and brought plenty of smiles to the school community.
Our Prep students have made wonderful progress during their first 100 days, both in their learning and in the way they have settled into school life. Thank you to Miss Pinkerton, Miss Ashfield, Miss Georgie and Miss Sarah for the care, energy and hard work they continue to provide.
Podcast - New Episode
Year 6 students Zara and Lara recently had the opportunity to interview our local State Member of Parliament, James Newbury. They discussed his role in the community, leadership and his support for local schools and future school improvements.
Our podcast will continue to grow this term, with Year 6 students hosting a new People of St Mary’s series. The series will share the stories and experiences of past and present members of our community. We look forward to hearing these conversations.

Student Success
At last week’s assembly, we celebrated several students for their achievements outside of school. Congratulations to Mary from Year 2 for her dancing and performance achievements, Oscar from Year 3 for his success in surf lifesaving, and Will from Year 6 for his achievements in wrestling.
We love recognising the many talents and interests of our students. Families are encouraged to share any achievements from outside of school so we can continue celebrating them with our community.
Hall Update & Assistance Needed
Many families will have noticed that the hall floor was replaced during the school holidays. We are now working to transform the hall into a high-quality, multipurpose indoor sports and learning space for our students.
The next stage will include updating and repainting the hall. We would love to hear from any parents or friends of the school with experience in painting, interior design or colour selection who may be able to offer advice or support.
This project is another important step in improving our facilities and providing our students with the best possible learning environments.
