Year 5/6
Endeavour Program
Following the incredible success of last year's Senior School Cooking Drive, our Year 5 and 6 students are excited to launch the MEPS Winter Toastie Train in support of the incredible work of the Mornington Community Support Centre (M.C.S.C.)
Last year, our school community came together to prepare and donate a wonderful variety of nourishing meals for people doing it tough during the colder months. The generosity of our families was truly inspiring and this year we're hoping to make an even bigger impact.
The M.C.S.C. provides emergency food relief, practical assistance and free, nourishing meals to members of our local community.
This year, our students are eager to roll up their sleeves and lend a helping hand, preparing hundreds of ham and cheese toasties - the most requested meal served through the Centre's community café. By focusing on one simple meal, we hope to provide even more warm, nourishing lunches for those who need them most this winter.
We're currently seeking support from local businesses and community connections to help source donations of bread, butter, ham and cheese. If you own, work for or have a connection with a bakery, supermarket, deli, food supplier or another local business that may be able to assist, we'd love to hear from you.
Once we've confirmed any business donations, we'll invite our school community to help fill any remaining ingredient needs via a Compass donation sign-up.
If you can help or would like more information, please contact Cassie Humphreys at cassandra.humphreys@education.vic.edu.au.
Thank you for helping our students put kindness into action, strengthen their connection to our local community and make a real difference this winter.
