Term 4 means cricket season
Marian claimed a 3 wicket win over Saint Francis in the first round of the Downie Shield competition at Mark Taylor Oval last Thursday!
Bowling first, Marian bowled out Saint Francis for 69, With Connor Moore taking 4 wickets. In reply, Marian chased the total 7 down with numerous batters getting starts to secure the win.
Marian then went to Albury to verse Xavier Catholic College in the second round.
After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Marian lost early wickets to be under pressure. However, they made a respectable total of 136. This was led by Vaibhav Patel who made 80, a massive effort for a year 7 student in the Opens competition.
In reply, Xavier proved too strong with the bat, chasing the total down with only 5 wickets lost. Jugal Patel and Om Chaudhary took two wickets each to be the best performing of the bowlers.
The coaches would like to thank the players for their effort and behaviour in the two games played, they represented the school extremely well
