Principal News

Dear Marian Catholic College Community,

We are fast approaching the end of the HSC and the final graduation ceremony for Year 12 2025. Next week will see the last few exams rostered and many sighs of relief no doubt as they end. Reports thus far indicate that all Year 12 have worked productively and positively. Feedback from our Presiding Examiner Mrs Kate Norris and all of her team, the students  should feel very proud of their focus and attention given to the exams each day. Thank you to Mrs Norris, Amanda, Norma, Mr Seers, Mrs Fisher and all involved in ensuring that the HSC runs smoothly and supportively for all students.

Last Thursday evening, the CAPA team set up the Yr 12 Visual Arts Major works and an exhibition of art from students in Year 7-12. This was a great opportunity to see the fantastic work of the Year 12 students after the examiners had marked their work. The themes of the work focused on faith, life, relationships, family, identity and belonging and the execution of the visual imagery and installations a joy to look at. The students, their teachers and parents and families should be very proud of what they have achieved this year.

Friday 14th of November, Year 12 graduates and their families are invited to share a special thanksgiving Mass at Sacred Heart Church at 5pm, celebrated by Father Henry Ibe. From there after a final special class photo in the Parish gardens, a bus will take the graduates to their formal presentation and dinner. This is held at the Yoogali Club later that night. Ahead of Friday 14th, we wish all of our Year 12 graduates and their parents, carers and families the very best for these concluding celebrations of their school life at Marian.

I would like to extend an invitation for two to three parents to join the Marian School Advisory Council for 2026. The School Advisory Council meets 4 times a year each Monday Week 6 of term. The role of the council is to provide an opportunity for parents to learn in more depth about the undertakings and operations of the College. This allows an open dialogue, enhancing communications between parents and the school overall. A copy of the School Advisory Council Guidelines is available here. If you are interested in joining the council, please contact the school office to let us know.
