FWPS Parents' Association
As we move quickly towards the end of term, the Parents Association have been busy brainstorming and planning our fundraising and community events. At our last PA meeting we were able to finalise our calendar and fundraising goals, but while we eagerly await the official tick of approval from our school leadership, we have plenty to do... and we need your help!
This year we are introducing the concept of "Donate the Dollars" for some of our fundraising initiatives. We know that we have many families and caregivers who can't always find the time to pull together items for our fundraisers, but still want to contribute to them, so this year, for select activities we will provide a "No time, No problem" option, where you can donate the money you would have spent on purchasing items and the PA will do the shopping for you. Keep a look out for the compass payment options that will help shrink the to-do list while supporting our village!
Of course, we still need in-person volunteers and giving up some of your time is a great way to meet other people in our school community while providing options to talk to our PA members about how we can support the school that supports our children. Our upcoming events are:
Second Hand Uniform Stall - Before School - Wednesday, 25th of March
The next second hand uniform stall will be held before school from 8:40am to 9:00am on the 25th of March. Payments for purchases can be made via card. If you or someone you know is able to assist with the set up and running of the stall, please sign up via the following link:
Easter Raffle Donations
Tickets for the Easter Raffle will be on sale in the coming weeks via Compass, however we need your help to provide donations of Easter chocolate for the amazing Easter baskets that will be raffled off in the last week of school. This has been a much loved tradition at FWPS and last year's baskets were eggsellent and will be hard to beat! For those who are able to, we are seeking donations of Easter chocolate, which can be dropped off to the school office.
No time to shop? No problem, this will be the first fundraiser where we utilise our "Donate the Dollars" donation option, simply donate the amount of money you would have spent on goodies to help fill the baskets and we can do the purchasing for you. A compass payment option will be made available in the coming days for those who want to participate in this way.
West Footscray Writers Festival and FWPS PA - Second Hand Book Stall - Sunday, 29th March
We will be supporting the West Footscray Writers' Festival, which is running from March 27th to March 29th by hosting a second hand book stall fundraiser at the Clarke Street Pop Up Park from 10am to 2pm. Don't forget to check out the 'not to be missed' program for the festival, after you've stopped by our stall of course.
If you have books that are ready for a new home, you can donate them by dropping them off to the school office for us to sell at the stall alongside handmade bookmarks and cards that have been created by our incredibly talented FWPS students.
All raised funds will go towards the beautification of the gazebo area. To help support this event, you can attend the festival and purchase books, cards or bookmarks, donate any second hand books for the stall via school office drop off or volunteer on the 29th by signing up here volunteersignup.org/338KR, we have options for 1 hour blocks and would love to see you there!
