Congratulations to students who have been recognised by staff for their demonstration of one or many of the 6 Learning Powers celebrated at SMDP.

On Monday, during our whole school assembly, the following students were acknowledged and their learning described so we all know why they are worthy recipients of our awards and applause.

PA | Advait | for showing collaboration with your classmates during Inquiry, where we have been learning about how we can display learning powers in our classroom. You shared and took turns with your partner to build a train track, showing resilience when you didn't have all the parts you needed but still kept a positive attitude. Well done Addie for showing your best and a little bit more! |
PN | Ira | For being a reflective learner who focuses on our class and school routines, following them calmly and respectfully supporting others to do the same. You are setting a fantastic example for your classmates by consistently producing work of the highest standard that is beautifully presented. You follow directions effectively and humbly, never drawing attention to your hard work. Thank you for helping our classroom be a calm and successful place to learn, Ira. |
| 1C | Elijah | For consistently demonstrates outstanding motivation and responsibility in his learning. He gets started on tasks straight away, carefully follows all instructions, and always tries his best. This student is thoughtful and kind, regularly helping his peers when they find something challenging. He also shows great maturity by asking for clarification when he needs it, ensuring he fully understands his learning. Well done, Elijah, keep up the fantastic work! |
1M | Thomas | What a week!! You showed amazing collaboration! You worked so beautifully with your table friends. You listened, accepted help, and showed that team work makes the dream work. You were spotted in writing, working hard on building a really kind character for your story using playdough, then naming all of his inside traits. Such a great job, Thomas! |
2E | Aadhya | For being a motivated learner who is showing wonderful growth and maturity in your learning. Your positive attitude shines through when you focus your attention on the lesson, sit beautifully on the floor with eyes and ears ready during our daily maths review, and regulate yourself so well in class. You patiently complete each task, often challenging yourself to do a little bit more. You also collaborate thoughtfully with your peers, especially when creating your online safety poster. 3/4K | Nash | For being a motivated learner in Maths. After missing a lesson, you took responsibility for your learning and asked for support to understand the partition strategy. You listened carefully and took time to ensure you could use it successfully. This shows a real commitment to doing your best. I am so proud of the way you drove your learning. Well done, Nash! |
3/4S | Ashton | This award goes to Ashton for showing resilience in his learning every single day. Ashton consistently tries his absolute best, even when tasks feel challenging. He approaches his learning with determination and a positive attitude, reminding himself to keep going and to use positive self-talk when things get tricky. 5M | Joshua | This award goes to Josh for being a creative learner who has shown a positive and enthusiastic approach to his learning so far this year. Josh showed creativity in his method of planning for his narrative story as part of NAPLAN practice and he is always thinking outside the box! Fantastic effort and keep up the good work! |
