Religious Education

Dear Parents and Carers

It is hard to believe we are almost at the end of another year.  Our students have grown, and our teachers have worked hard to ensure every child has improved themselves academically, socially, and spiritually.   We pride ourselves in helping all students strive to be the best they can.   Like us, we hope you have seen these positive changes throughout the year.

When you read your child’s end of year school report don't forget to tell them how proud you are of their achievements and give positive encouragement where it is needed.  When you take interest in what they do they will strive even harder.   Be proud of what they have accomplished; we certainly are.

Advent ~ Let's Prepare for Birth of Jesus!!

We have commenced the season of Advent. At a time when the rest of the world is speeding up and everything becomes more frenzied than ever, Advent reminds us to slow down.  In Sunday's gospel Matthew 24:37-44, focusses on the unexpected second coming of the Son of Man, urging believers to be vigilant and prepared, comparing it to the days before the flood. The passage emphasizes staying awake, as the coming of the Lord will be sudden.  The key message..."stay awake! For you do not know on which day your Lord will come".

Advent is a time for waiting and preparation, and a time for hope, joy, and happiness.   How will you prepare for the birth of Jesus?   How will you give hope and joy to others?

Advent Liturgies

Each Monday we will hold Advent liturgies in the school auditorium.   Our senior leaders have helped to prepare each liturgy for the next 3 weeks.

Monday’s liturgy focussed on HOPE.   Students listened to a gospel adaptation centered on being hope filled and being ‘awake’ to the coming of Jesus at Christmas.

Please feel free to join us for these weekly prayer celebrations on Mondays at 9am.

School Fare

What an incredible evening! Last Friday's School Fare was a wonderful celebration of community spirit, bringing together students, families, staff, friends and visitors for an unforgettable experience.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed—whether by volunteering, donating, or simply showing up to share in the fun. Your support made this event not only possible but truly special and memorable.

We are grateful for the hard work of our Community Group especially Raathika and Sheena. A huge shout out to all those who contributed in any way shape or form, especially (for example) Tyson Maher and his crew who manned the BBQ from start to finish; a huge effort. We look forward to more celebrations of learning, friendship, and community in 2026!

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults

St Brendan’s Parish,

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

Are you searching for more peace in your life, do you feel something is missing in your life?

The RCIA process leads people through what the Catholic church believes and teaches. Our focus is on how the church and our faith lead us to a relationship with God, through joining a community of faith.

The RCIA process begins on Thursday the 9th of Oct at 7.30pm in the St Brendan’s Pastoral centre, with an enquiry night.

The role of sharing our faith with others is central to our own faith, this sometimes happens through us asking a question, or listening as others ask questions.

The RCIA team of MaryAnne Demase, Geoff Woodhouse, Sr Hartini and myself lead the process on behalf of Our Parish please keep us in your prayers and seek to be informed on what is happening in the RCIA process and who is involved.

Any questions can be directed to Anthony 58212633 Tuesday or Thursday.
