On Monday, December 8, 130 enthusiastic students travelled to Mills Beach in Mornington for a fun-filled and memorable day by the ocean. The day provided a fantastic opportunity for students to enjoy time with friends while learning important water safety skills; especially timely with summer and the holiday season approaching.
A huge thank you to our wonderful staff and incredible parent helpers who helped make the day run so smoothly. Your flexibility, support, and willingness to assist wherever needed was truly appreciated. A special shout-out to Mimi, Ebony, Sarah, Tanya, Natalia, Nate, Jess, Heidi, Brett, Emily, Eleisha and Tanya. You were all amazing!
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to Jacqui and the fantastic team at the Mornington Lifesaving Club for delivering such a well-organised, engaging, and enjoyable program. Their knowledge, energy, and enthusiasm ensured the students had an unforgettable experience. What a perfect way to finish off the year-sun, sand, and lots of smiles!

What a huge year it has been in Physical Education! 2025 was filled with a wide range of exciting events, including Athletics, Cross Country, Swimming, Lightning Premiership, Senior and Junior Parish Sports, Cricket Blasters, AFL Girls Day, Netball Boys Day, Basketball and Soccer Clinics, and finishing the year with our much-loved Beach Day.
I am incredibly proud of all our students at St Brendan’s, who consistently impressed me with their enthusiasm, effort, good sportsmanship and positive attitudes across all activities.
Many of these events would not have been possible without the support of our wonderful volunteers. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously gave their time throughout the year—your support made a significant difference.
I would also like to sincerely thank Sue, Bernie, and our dedicated staff at St Brendan’s for their ongoing encouragement and willingness to support the many sporting events held throughout the year. A special thank you to our fantastic office team, Louise Street and Wendy Ziino, for their invaluable support in ensuring everything ran smoothly.
I would like to warmly welcome Tom Porter, who will be taking on the role next year. I am confident that the students, staff, and wider St Brendan’s community will make him feel very welcome in 2026. Next year, I look forward to joining the Student Learning Team and working in the Year 1/2 area.
Lastly, I would like to wish everyone in our community a very Merry Christmas and a safe, restful holiday break.
