To our musicians, singers and staff involved in the Spring Music Concert, a wonderful celebration of hard work and collaboration, featuring student performances from both campuses. The evening showcased a diverse range of ensembles, including the Drum Line, Junior Band, College Concert Band, Guitar Ensemble, Vocal Group, Harmony Ensemble, Jazz Band, and Rock bands from the Year 11 and 12 VCE Music classes. Our Year 11 Rock Band also performed an original composition they took to the recent ACC Battle of the Bands Competition.
Hayden, Year 11
"Performing at the Spring Concert was flat-out amazing. From the nearly booked-out seats to watching each and every performance, it was definitely a night to remember. Every ensemble stood out and delivered a fantastic performance.
Watching the Year 12 students perform one of their final acts had students, including myself, reflecting on the amazing time we have had learning and developing our individual musical interests.
Playing alongside my fellow Year 11 students was an unforgettable experience. Being able to showcase something we had come together to create was incredible, and I would do it again without a doubt. To put it frankly, the 2026 Spring Concert was a flawless and incredible show, brought together by our amazing staff and talented musicians. I would highly recommend attending a future performance!"
Blake, Year 12
"I had so much fun doing my last Spring Concert here and it was great to see all of the countless hours of practice come to fruition for all the music students."
Lucian, Year 8
"My highlights from the Spring Music Concert were playing the flute in the Concert Band and singing in the Vocal Ensemble. I especially enjoyed playing instruments like the guitar backstage with the other performers. Through this experience, I have strengthened my teamwork and confidence and grown as a musician while sharing my love of music with others."
We extend our sincere gratitude to the families, friends and staff who supported the concert and our young musicians.
To our ACC Cross Country Team who achieved podium status in 2nd place at the ACC Cross Country Carnival! Squad Captain Michael says the result istestament to the team's dedication and perserverance.
"The squad for this carnival was so strong, full of athletes who genuinely wanted to try their best, no matter how painful both the training and the race would be. Long before the official race began, many of our athletes continuously trained at school, at their athletics club, or just by themselves. I could see the passion our athletes brought, competing for something bigger than just individual achievement.
That exact spirit transferred into the way these athletes represented St Bede’s with pride. The students’ focus throughout the season wasn't just on building cardiovascular endurance, but on cultivating the mental toughness required to push through the wall when the course got tough.
Marcus took 1st place in the Under 13s with an incredible time of 9:41. Asher joined him on the Under 13 podium in 3rd place with a time 10:11. Jonas achieved 2nd place in the Under 16s with a blistering 15:52. Eoin finished right behind in 3rd place inthe Under 16s with 16:04. I earned 3rd place in the Senior division with a strong time of 16:23. As a result of these outstanding efforts, we were able to achieve 2nd place overall on the day.
Achieving this level of success requires an incredible support network behind the scenes. On behalf of the entire squad, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr Gavin Brown for his relentless dedication to both organising training and building the team for this year. "
An excellent result team, thank you for your efforts!
