Upcoming Events!
Winter Solstice / Waring — THIS Friday 19 June, 3:30–5:30pm
Join us after school to mark the season together and celebrate the Winter Solstice and Waring — Wombat Season in the Wurundjeri calendar — right here in our community!!
The event begins with planting and poetry in Yakai Baring, followed by lantern making, fire pits with DIY damper rolling and marshmallow toasting, Boite Choir and student music performances, and a smoking ceremony and storytelling with Uncle Trev.
Hot chocolate and alcohol-free mulled wine will keep everyone warm throughout the evening.
Damper dough balls, marshmallow bags and hot drinks will be available to purchase on the night, with all proceeds going to BNWPS.
This is a magical and deeply special community gathering — no need to go home first, just stay and enjoy!
We need your help!
Many hands make light work, and we have a handful of short volunteer shifts available across the afternoon — approximately two hours each.
Roles include lantern making support, serving warm drinks from the OSHC kitchen, fire pit wardens, and helping kids roll their DIY damper.
It's a lovely way to be part of the magic! Sign up here: tinyurl.com/solstice26roster
Glass Jar Donations Needed!
We're collecting clean glass jars to support the kids in creating beautiful handmade lanterns. Wide-necked jars are ideal (so a tea-light can sit inside), labels removed, lids optional. Please drop your clean jars in the labelled box outside the front office. Thank you!
Trivia Night : Saturday Evening, 1 August (Term 3) – Grown-ups only
Save the date — Saturday 1 August!
Plans for this year's Annual Trivia Night are well underway and we're excited to share some updates!
As many families will know, our much-loved venue of many years, Estonia House, has sadly been sold.
This year we'll be heading to the Brunswick Town Hall — and we think it's going to make for a fantastic night out! And to keep the magic alive as we enter our exciting new venue, the fabulous Planet Janet Trivia is back to host for another year.
We're also finalising this year's theme shortlist and want YOUR vote!
Here are this year's theme options:
Cast your vote by placing a token in the correct jar at the front office, or fill in the online form here:
The theme will be announced before the end of term — giving you plenty of time to hunt the op shops over the holidays for the perfect outfit. Dressing up is never compulsory, but it's always part of the fun!
Remember- this is a grown-ups only night, so get the babysitter locked in, mark the date in the diary and start thinking about your team now!
Ticket sales and table bookings opening soon.
While a few things will look different this year, everything our Trivia Night is known for will be there — laughs, friendly competition, great fundraising, raffles, auctions, and of course, plenty of dancing
