Wii Gaay

This week Tilly, Harry, Angus, Zavier and Janahli along with Miss Taggart travelled to Bonville, just outside of Coffs Harbour for the first Wii Gaay Learning Hub of the year. This year the Wii Gaay students are creating a book that ties in with this years NAIDOC Week theme, '50 years of Deadly'. Students were given an animal, tool or person as their topic. This Learning Hub was all about setting the foundations of the book. They will work on this throughout Term 3. At their next Learning Hub they will bring it all together to create their collaborative book called '50 pages of Deadly animal, tools or People'.

Library News

2026 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC)

All students have now been entered into the 2026 NSW Premier’s Reading Challenge (PRC).

I have been entering books that students have been reading and borrowing at school for Stage 2 and Stage 3, and many students have already completed the required number of books for the challenge.

For Early Stage 1 and Stage 1, books have also been entered. During each library lesson, I read a book to students and these books have been included in their PRC records.

If your child is reading books at home and you would like to log these, students can use the same login details as last year.

I have login details for all Kindergarten students and any new students. If you would like your child’s login details, please email ewhitney@arm.catholic.edu and I will be happy to send them to you.

Please note that the Premier’s Reading Challenge closes in September 2026.

P&F Meeting

The P&F plays an important role in building community by organising social events and supporting the school through fundraising activities. We encourage everyone to become involved in the P&F Association. We have a wonderful committee so we encourage our parent body to come along and support our marvellous P&F this year.

Our next P&F Meeting is Tuesday,  4th August at 5:30pm in the staffroom.
