Respectful Relationship News

WEEK 7
Mill Park Heights students have been learning about ways to problem solve in a positive manner. In our lives many problems can arise such as feeling nervous about a test in class, your friend being away at school for the day or finding it hard to spell a tricky word in your writing. The RR program teaches students a range of strategies they can use when certain emotions feel overwhleming or a situation is becoming a program. By building our problem solving tool belt of strategies, it allows students to tackle 'tricky' situations in a positive manner. Students develop a vocabulary to help them recognise and understand strengths and positive qualities in themselves and others. They identify the values and strengths they have learnt from role models within their families and culture to think about how this guidance helps them to treat others with respect. They consider how to draw on these strengths to engage with the challenges and opportunities that life presents.
