Year 3 and 4 - Natural Disasters

Our Year 3 and 4 students have been continuing their learning about common Australian natural disasters. Over the past fortnight, students have investigated cyclones, tropical storms, and the effects floods can have on our environment and communities.

Students are also developing their digital technology skills by exploring how online tools such as Canva for Education can help them present information in creative, engaging, and informative ways. We look forward to seeing their final digital posters and presentations!

Year 5 and 6 - Earth and Space Science

Meanwhile, our Year 5 and 6 students have continued their journey through space, exploring far beyond our Solar System. They have been investigating Earth-like planets discovered in recent years and considering whether these distant worlds could support life.

Students are now using Minecraft Education Edition to design and build worlds that could support a future human colony. Through this exciting project, students are combining creativity, problem-solving, and scientific thinking as they imagine what life beyond Earth might look like.

Lunchtime clubs begin

Our SciTech Lunchtime Club, proudly run by our amazing SciTech Captains, has kicked off with terrific success! 🌟

During the first session, our Year 1 and 2 students enjoyed an exciting lunchtime in the computer lab, exploring technology and engaging in fun digital learning activities. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and curiosity on display!

The SciTech Captains will also be conducting two more lunchtime sessions later this term for our Year 3 & 4 students and Year 5 & 6 students. Dates will be announced soon — stay tuned! 💻🚀
