Year 2 UPDATE

It has been another busy and exciting term in Grade 2 with students continuing to show enthusiasm and curiosity in all learning areas.

In Mathematics we have been building our understanding of addition and subtraction and exploring multiplication and division through hands on learning and problem solving activities. Students have also been working on length, measuring and comparing objects using non-standard units.

We read our first novel in English, Fantastic Mr Fox, which the students loved to bits. It has been lovely to see the excitement for reading with many students showing a growing interest in chapter books and enjoying reading with their peers.

In Core Literacy, students have been focusing on spelling patterns 'ear' and 'air' and how to use these sounds and patterns in their writing.

In Social and Emotional Learning we have continued to explore our school values through discussion, activities and role plays. Students have also been actively taking part in our Respectful Relationships lessons and learning positive ways to communicate and work with others.

We are very proud of the growth, effort and positivity that the students continue to show every day in Grade 2.
