Year Level Captain's Report

Hi everyone, I’m Kevin and I’m the Year Level Captain for Year 10 this year! The last fortnight was quite tough, with Year 7 & 9s sitting their NAPLAN tests throughout the week, as well as Divisional Swimming on Tuesday (11/03). However, we still had a great time, starting with the very much-needed Labour Day break on Monday (10/03) and the exciting Career’s Expo on Thursday (13/03).

Congratulations to everyone who participated in Divisional Swimming last Tuesday! It was amazing to have so many students representing our school in such a great way! Special mention to Connor H (Y12), Eve A (Y11), Gemma H (Y10), Keegan B (Y10), Kiara M (Y12), Lily G-P (Y12), Louis S (Y9), Tristan H (Y10) and Will P (Y11) for advancing past divisions, as well as Tilly H (Y7) for also advancing past divisions in diving. Congratulations to those who may have not won their races; you still supported the school in many ways!

Starting Wednesday 12th, Year 7s and 9s have been undertaking their NAPLAN exams, continuing all the way up until Monday, March 24th. Hang in there and make sure to give it your all! Good luck for any tests you still may have!

Last Thursday 13th, the Bayside Glen Eira and Kingston Local Learning and Employment Network hosted their annual Industry Day at Beaumaris Secondary College, directed towards Year 9 and 10s, providing many helpful insights on what it might be like to work within various companies and industries. As a Year 10 student myself, it was extremely helpful to explore all my options for the future. Many other students found the Expo to be a a valuable experience and had lots of fun along the way!

Just a reminder to book Parent-Student-Teacher conferences ASAP if you haven’t already. Also, to any Year 12s, keep trying your best with your VCE subjects!
