Uniting with our Nepalese Community

Dear School Community,

Over the past few days, many of us have heard the heartbreaking news from Nepal. Severe flash flooding, triggered by a glacial collapse in the Himalayan region swept through valleys and villages across central Nepal, causing tragic loss of life, widespread destruction, and leaving thousands of families searching for missing loved ones.

As a Christian school community, Scripture calls us to "mourn with those who mourn" (Romans 12:15) and to bear one another's burdens in times of trial. For our Nepalese students, families, and friends, this disaster is not a distant headline — it touches homes, relatives, and heritage directly. Many in our community may be carrying heavy anxiety as they wait for news from home.

We want our Nepalese students and families to know: you are not alone. Our hearts, our prayers, and our whole school family stand with you.

Please 'Notify an absence' if your child needs to leave school early

If your child needs to leave early from school, you are required to complete the Notify an Absence via the Parent Portal before collecting your child. Your help with this is appreciated because if it is not completed on the day, there is not the option to go into the parent portal and retrospectively complete it.

Absences

If your child will be absent for school, it would be appreciated if you could complete and submit the form below (this is on the Parent Portal, so you will need to log in with your Veracross Login). If no notification is received, an SMS will be sent out to you which will require you complete the same absence form.

This form can be completed in advance if you know your child will be away from school for any reason. However it cannot be completed retrospectively, please contact the office if you need to explain a past absence.
