Principals Message

It is always a pleasure to connect with you and share the latest news and achievements from our vibrant school community. Over the past few weeks, we have celebrated some significant events and milestones, and I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the collective efforts and successes of our staff, students, and community.

Our recent NAIDOC Day was a true highlight for Narrandera High School. The level of student and staff participation and engagement was outstanding. There was a palpable sense of pride and respect as we celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture, and achievements. It was especially heartening to see so many community members joining us for the day. Their involvement gave our celebrations greater meaning and made the event even more special. I would like to extend a special thank you to our Aboriginal Education Officers, Braden Lyons and Joy O'Hara, for their exceptional organisation and commitment. Their hard work behind the scenes ensured the day’s activities ran seamlessly and provided learning opportunities for everyone involved.

As we move forward, the subject selection process is now underway for students in Years 8, 10, and 11. This is an important time for making decisions that shape future learning pathways. All subject selection forms are due at the office by Friday, August 21. I encourage students to take the time to carefully consider their choices—select subjects that spark their curiosity, suit their strengths, and open doors for future possibilities. Asking lots of questions and seeking advice from teachers, parents, and peers can help guide you in making the best choices for your interests and aspirations.

Congratulations to Mrs Beth Chappell who received a Minister’s Award for Excellence in Teaching at the Public Education Foundation Awards during Education Week. This prestigious achievement is a well-deserved recognition of her many years of dedication to the Narrandera High School community. Mrs Chappell’s passion for education and her positive impact on students have enriched our school.

Thank you for your ongoing support and engagement. Together, we continue to build a community where every student can thrive.
