AI In Everyday Life

What It Means for us 2nd Edition

AI is already woven into daily life — face unlock, streaming recommendations, map predictions, spell-check — often so seamlessly we don't notice it. Rather than "thinking" like humans, most AI works by finding patterns in huge datasets and using them to make predictions.

AI is reshaping learning and work, shifting focus from memorising facts to asking good questions and using tools critically. It also raises real questions about accuracy, accountability, fairness, and bias, since AI learns from human-created data. Privacy matters too — many tools collect personal data, so critical thinking about AI's answers is essential.

Bottom line: today's students are the first generation growing up with AI as a constant presence, making curiosity and digital literacy more important than ever. AI works best in the hands of people who understand both its potential and its limits.
