Term 3 learning for students has involved the wonderful world of mushrooms, what farms problem with new ideas to recycle or reuse.

 

Foundation and Year 1/2 students are exploring the many different farms we rely on for the variety of products we consume. They have discovered farms that produce fruit and vegetable, different grains like wheat and rice, dairy farms and the many products they create and farms that produce fibres such as wool for the things we wear and use.

 

Year 3/4 students have dived into the world of mushrooms where they have learnt about different varieties, life cycles, history and how we farm mushrooms. All classes have started their own mushroom growing kits that are just starting to produced yummy white button mushrooms that will be used in a recipe of each classes choosing.

 

Year 5/6 students have been building on their understanding of waste and the importance of recycling. Students have selected a product they are passionate about and are brainstorming ways to improve their products recycling capability and longevity of using their products.
