Beaufort Student Selected for National Curious Minds Program

Beaufort Secondary College is proud to announce that Year 9 student, Tess Wheeler, has been selected to take part in the prestigious Curious Minds Program — a national initiative that supports high-achieving young women with a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The Curious Minds Program, run in partnership with the Australian Government and the Australian Mathematics Trust, brings together some of Australia’s brightest young women to engage in challenging STEM workshops, mentoring, and research experiences. Selection for this program is highly competitive and recognises exceptional curiosity, creativity, and academic excellence.
“Tess is a determined and inquisitive learner who consistently challenges herself to improve her learning and explore new ideas,” said Julie Walker, Mathematics Domain Leader. “Her selection for the Curious Minds Program reflects both her commitment to mathematics and learning beyond the classroom.”
Through this opportunity, Tess will be mentored by women working in STEM industries and will participate in online learning experiences, designed to extend her skills and inspire future pathways in science and mathematics. She will also attend a national camp, to be held in Canberra.
Congratulations, Tess on this incredible achievement! We look forward to following your journey as you represent BSC on the national stage.
