OUR FAITH

PRAYER

Loving God, as we prepare for Catholic Schools Week we thank you for walking with us as we journey together in faith. Fill our hearts with hope and guide our steps each and everyday. May your light shine through us, helping us to share your love with everyone we meet. Strengthen us for the path ahead, and may your peace be with us always.

Amen.

We pray ...

for..... our new Bishop; Bishop Peter Murphy, for Pope Leo XIV and for all candidates who are preparing to make their First Reconciliation and First Eucharist this term.

LITURGY NEWS

Reconciliation and Class Visit

Yesterday some of the Year 6 students attended Reconciliation and Kindergarten had a class visit. We thank our priests for their time and spiritual guidance.

Family Masses

Our next Family Mass will be on Sunday 1st June at 9.30am at St Nicholas Church. We strongly encourage our Year 3 students, First Eucharist candidates and their families to attend.

Bishop Peter Murphy

Bishop Peter Murphy was ordained and installed as the 11th Bishop of the Diocese of Armidale on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Saints Mary and Joseph's Cathedral in Armidale. The joyous and historic liturgy was attended by 29 bishops from across Australia, including the principal consecrator Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP, who delivered the homily. Prior to this appointment, Bishop Murphy served as Vicar General and Administrator of St Michael's Cathedral in the Diocese of Wagga Wagga, and he was the last bishop to be appointed by the late Pope Francis. His installation was a significant event, marking the end of a two-year vacancy in the Armidale Diocese, and he has expressed his hope to continue Pope Francis' legacy of caring for the poor and marginalized.

RECONCILIATION & FIRST EUCHARIST

First Reconciliation and First Eucharist preparation and program has begun for our students and parents in Year 3. Any parents who did not attend the Parent Information session last week will need to go to the St Nicholas Parish Office in Marius Street during office hours to collect an Information Pack.
