Dancing all the way to the top!

The Tasmanian Dance Expo is a premier three-day dance convention and competition held in Hobart. Founded by Tasmanians Lockhart Brownlie and Renee Ritchie, it features solo and troupe competitions, workshops led by top Australian and international choreographers, and ends in the prestigious Galaxy Gala showcase.

After being selected as one of the top five soloists, Morgan Bannister (Year 8) danced again on Sunday night and was awarded as winner of the Teen Category.

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement Morgan!

Equestrian success at MacKillop!

Over the school holidays, the MacKillop Equestrian team participated in the Schools' One-Day Event, with all three students achieving plenty of personal bests and exciting achievements.

Represented by Bella Merlo (Year 7), Hannah Richards (Year 8) and Annabelle Wilson (Year 10) this amazing team finished this event with:

• 1st in the best High School Team
• 1st in the least penalities across High School and College
• 2nd in the best team Dressage marks
• Bella placed 3rd in the individual rankings
• Hannah placed 4th in Ring 2
• Annabelle placed 1st in Ring 4

Well done to this trio on their efforts!

A big congratulations to James Kirkham (Year 9) on his success recently in Adelaide, as he represented Tasmania at the Australian Little Athletics Championships. 

James competed in the High Jump, the 100m and the 200m, even making it all the way into the finals of the 100m and 200m!

Well done James on a fantastic effort!

In more exciting athletics news, we are please to announce that Max Garwood (Year 9) also represented Tasmania in the Australian Little Athletics Championships.

Max made the 100m and 200m finals and placed 4th in the High Jump. In a stellar performance Max also secured 3rd place in the Long Jump, earning his spot on the podium.

Well done Max!

Finn Pilkington (Year 7) recently travelled to Queensland to compete at the Surf Life Saving Youth Championships.

Congratulations Finn!

Josh Donato (Year 11) was selected to represent Tasmania in the U18 Basketball Championships, held in Brisbane recently.
