SAPSASA AFL Football State Carnival
In Week 3, I was fortunate to represent the Airport District Girls AFL Football team at the 2026 SAPSASA AFL Football State Carnival held at West Beach. It was an incredible three days of footy, teamwork, and big wins.
Here is a summary of the carnival:
Our first game was tough and ended in a draw, but as the day went on, we worked better together, fought harder, and won our next two games, making for an awesome first day.
On the second day, we won all of our games by quite a bit, and a personal highlight was when I kicked a goal in the second game!
On day three, we won all three games. In the last game, we had to beat Port to finish first and win the whole carnival. We ended up winning by 6 goals, which meant we had won the Division 1 competition and were going home with gold medals!
Aside from the wins, I learnt new things during the carnival. I learnt how great it is to be in a team that understands you and helps with your injuries or problems. I also learnt my team is an amazing group of girls with a bright footy future, and we are so proud to bring the gold back to our families and friends!
