Religious Dimensions

Let us pray:
Gracious God,
We begin this year with hearts full of anticipation.
Guide us, as we scatter seeds of kindness, love, compassion, wisdom and creativity. Let us work with a confident expectation, knowing that the good work we start today with each other is destined to grow.
May our school be a beacon of light, may our students shine with confidence, and may this year be a time for all in our community to share the light with one another and all those who we may meet along the way.
Amen.
Our School Theme 2026
Our staff joined together on the first day and began with prayer and exploration of our theme for 2026 ‘United in faith, sharing the light’.
Pope Leo recently reminded us 'The world needs you to shine your light' (Nov, 2025)
Our theme provides the opportunity for us to think about how, with God’s support, we can bring light to those around us. We are reminded that this light is most often revealed through small acts of kindness—simple gestures of compassion that brighten the daily lives of others.
Our Scripture: The Parable of the Mustard Seed
“The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”
The story begins with a mustard seed, which is the smallest of all seeds, being planted in the ground with humble expectations. Despite its tiny size, it eventually grows into a magnificent tree with branches large enough to provide shelter and rest for the birds of the air.
This serves as a powerful reminder for us all that the seemingly small, daily seeds of kindness and knowledge we plant this year will eventually grow into a community of care and love for all.
We look forward to a year full of prayer, growing our faith and opportunities to share our 'light' with each other and all in our community.
