Community Engagement

Community Spirit in Action

As a Catholic school community it is our mission to build relationships between parish and school, between parent, teacher and student, between learning and living, focused on formation, learning and wellbeing outcomes for all children.

What a fantastic start to the year! The buzz at St Roch's on Friday morning was electric. It was wonderful to see our community reconnecting and our students so eager to begin the year.

We were delighted to welcome 21 new Preps into our beautiful school. The Preps entered with confidence and there wasn't a tear to be seen! We were very proud of our Year 6 leaders who enthusiastically greeted their Prep buddies and families as they arrived.

There were plenty of smiles at the Photo Booth!  It was great to see many families having a special photo together. Thank you to our Learning Support Officers Max Pinchbeck, Sam Arthur, and Alison Swift for their photography skills and help with the setup.

The P & F morning tea provided a moment to pause and reconnect and there was a real sense of welcome in the Hall. Thank you to everyone who joined us for cup of tea or coffee and something delicious to eat. A huge thank you to Jess White (Wheelan) and Sarah Iwaniw for coordinating the morning and the Year 1 team for their hospitality. It is in these moments, sharing a cuppa and a conversation that we build the relationships that support our children’s learning.

We look forward to sharing many more events with you throughout 2026.

We know that positive student outcomes are linked to active parent engagement, so we are thrilled to have started the year with such strong community spirit. Here is to a wonderful 2026!

Gardening Club

We are thrilled to be welcoming Julie Meseha back again this year to lead Gardening Club for our students each Wednesday. Gardening Club will commence this Wednesday. All students are welcome to meet Julie at the garden beds to work together to help grow our new crop of vegetables.

Icy Pole Friday

Our school leaders will be selling icy poles for a gold coin donation at 3.30pm in the playground this week and each Friday afternoon. Last year the money raised has helped to fund the installation of a Gaga which is to be installed in the next few weeks. All money raised will go towards improving our school.
